An original oil painting on canvas by Anne Harkness. While driving near the coast of NC, I happened upon this broken down, yet charming scene. I photographed it, then started to lay it out in paint. The almost bleak colors, though red, white and blue in essence, seemed to demand I not strengthen or tamper with them. This cool winter coastal scene has its own inner warmth and curiosity, just enough to make you want to try some boiled peanuts.
