I was captivated by their crisp lines and strong graphic shapes. To paint them, I used lines to determine proportions but couldn't eliminate them because they activated the whole painting. The background is alive with color and a non representational painting in itself. The thicker lines that streak through the painting add motion and abstraction to this striking still life.
