Magnetism
Magnetic phenomena describes an attraction when there is iron present in 2 items. These two can become inseparable. It is associated with moving electricity. Electric currents are characterized by fields of force. Have you been in a relationship where this force seems to be evident? Each of these words, magnetism, phenomena, attraction, electricity, fields of force, sounds beyond control, beyond resistance.
In Magnetism, I show 2 chairs depicted in detail. One is near the viewer and the other is in an adjacent room. The green wall close to us, is roughly painted, as if painted in a hurry. The room in the distance, shows a window somewhat roughly painted, possibly from a warehouse. The distant window pushes the viewer back into the painting to deal with these emotions. The red vertical line dividing the two chairs may be indicating the 'do not cross' line. But, it has been scratched out. Is magnetism too strong to be resisted? There is a sense of urgency about dealing with these two caught in an attraction.
On another plane, the white floor shows the shadows of walls and chairs. This is the only thing peaceful in the painting. But wait, even it has been tinged with a little pink...
