Eat Here

My journey using lines to accurately present perspective for cityscapes, chairs and telephone poles, has lead me to multiple discoveries. Photographing images which require perspective and already contain strong verticals and horizontals, inspires me to no end. As with the painting, Eat Here, I have used lines to build an understandable and structurally sound scene. The intersection of lines has suggested maybe it is to be represented in stained glass, but which indeed is perfect for random color pops in my oil painting. These color pops aren't accurate to the scene, but I just couldn't resist these joyful little screaming bits of color.

 If you have lived in Charlotte, NC for at least 15 years or more, you may remember Eat Here Now, a restaurant in South End. This area was and is said to be the heartbeat of Charlotte, where retro, contemporary, historical and trendy commerce intersects. Yes, Eat Here was really a bright yellow building with a red arrow below which was printed, EAT HERE NOW! In case you were wondering, it was a burger restaurant on East 4th Street and it sold classic diner style food.
